On the idea of being a taxi driver in Arvada

I never thought I would be a taxi driver in Arvada. Actually, I never thought I would be a taxi driver anywhere. But lately I’ve been thinking that maybe I should be a taxi driver—or perhaps a driver for Uber or for Lyft.

It seems like that might be an easy way to make some money. All you have to do, or so I am told, is get into your car, turn on an app, and off you go. But does it really work as simply and easily as that? That’s the question, of course.

And I suppose that the only way to find the answer to that question is to go out and try. In other words, what one has to do, if one decides that indeed he wants to be a taxi driver in Arvada, is download the Uber app, and the Lyft app, and then get into one’s car and see if he can make any money.

They say that the average fare for an Uber ride is about $15, while the average fare for a Lyft driver is somewhere around $12 or so. But as I understand it if you really want to make a profit driving, you should use both the Uber app and the Lyft app at the same time. If you do that, or so they say anyway, you will have a better chance of getting more rides and of making your income goals.

Anyway, it seems like it could possibly work, and so I think I’ll do a little more researching of the question, read some of the blogs of the RideShareGuy on the internet, watch a few YouTube videos on the subject of ride sharing. And then, after doing all that, I guess I will be ready to decide if I want to give the idea of being a cab driver in Arvada a try.
